Reflective Wisdom Traditions
About
Divination in the Buddhist tradition is not simply about receiving a yes-or-no answer. Rather, it is a contemplative tool that can offer insight into conditions, tendencies, obstacles, and opportunities that may be influencing a situation. Rooted in wisdom, compassion, and interdependence, Buddhist divination encourages reflection, discernment, and mindful action rather than passive prediction. Its purpose is to help individuals cultivate greater clarity, make skillful choices, and align their actions with their deepest values and aspirations.
At Tanaduk Wellness, we see divination as a tool for better living. Through practices such as tarot, Tibetan Mo, runes, and dream reflection, we explore insights that support self-awareness, personal growth, and mindful decision-making. Rather than predicting a fixed future, these practices help illuminate present circumstances, reveal patterns and possibilities, and encourage deeper connection with inner wisdom. Used with intention, divination can be a meaningful resource for cultivating clarity, balance, and well-being.
What to Expect
During a reading, we may draw upon one or several divination methods—including tarot, Tibetan Mo, runes, and dream reflection—to explore questions related to your wellness journey, life challenges, and personal growth. Each method offers a unique perspective, helping to illuminate patterns, opportunities, and areas for reflection. By combining these approaches when appropriate, we seek to provide thoughtful insights that support greater clarity, self-awareness, and informed decision-making as you navigate your path toward well-being.
Examples of methods
Dream Interpretation: While not purely divination, dream interpretation in the Tibetan tradition is ultimately intended to cultivate greater self-awareness, wisdom, and discernment. Rather than offering fixed predictions, it encourages deeper understanding of the mind and supports living with greater clarity, balance, and intention.
Within Tibetan Buddhism and the Tibetan medical tradition of Sowa Rigpa, dreams may be understood as reflections of mental habits, emotional states, karmic tendencies, physical health, or spiritual influences. Certain dreams are considered especially meaningful when they arise during periods of meditation, retreat, ritual practice, or significant life transitions .In some contexts, experienced teachers, practitioners, or physicians may also consider dreams as one source of information alongside meditation, observation, and other traditional methods of assessment.
For divination purposes, we may reflect on your dream imagery, emotions, colors, symbols, and recurring patterns to better understand obstacles, opportunities, or aspects of your inner life that require attention. If needed, we will utilize other modalities to help give you more insight into your current situation.
Mo: Our use of Tibetan Mo is part of our own lifelong journey of Buddhist study and practice. We approach this tradition with humility, respect, and a commitment to ongoing learning. To support the integrity of our practice, we continue to study with experienced practitioners and Lamas while maintaining the personal spiritual disciplines and practices traditionally associated with the use of Mo. We view this work as a continual path of learning and refinement, honoring both the wisdom of the tradition and the responsibility that comes with sharing it in service to others.
Tarot: At Tanaduk Wellness, tarot is used as a reflective tool for gaining clarity, insight, and perspective. Through the rich symbolism of the cards, tarot can help illuminate current circumstances, uncover patterns, and bring greater awareness to thoughts, emotions, and choices. Rather than predicting a fixed future, tarot invites mindful inquiry and encourages connection with your own inner wisdom. When approached with curiosity and intention, it can support clearer decision-making, personal growth, and a deeper understanding of your wellness journey.
Runes: We use runes as a method for gaining insight, reflection, and deeper self-understanding. Through their symbolic language, runes can help illuminate current circumstances, reveal patterns, and offer fresh perspectives on life's challenges and opportunities. We also honor the runes as a way of connecting with ancestral wisdom and the enduring teachings carried through tradition. Rather than predicting a fixed outcome, rune readings invite contemplation, intuitive awareness, and meaningful guidance to support intentional living and personal well-being.
